We are collecting this information to enable the church to keep in touch with you and provide pastoral support as appropriate. Data Protection legislation allows us to process this information as we regard it as being in the church’s legitimate interest.

Ashley Baptist Church is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected.  All information that we hold concerning you as an individual will be held on the church database which is held on the church office computer, password protected and accessed by the Church Administrator.  The admin volunteer who has access to the database will be trained in GDPR.

Your contact details will be removed from the database once you are no longer a member, or part of the congregation of the church – unless you ask to remain as one of our “church friends”.

To enable us to provide adequate pastoral support to you and your family, one of the Ministers may record information which may be regarded as sensitive. This information will be stored in a written format in a signed, sealed envelope and held securely in the church safe.  This information will NOT be disclosed to anyone else without your consent.

You have the right to ask to see any information we hold about you (including the pastoral support information) by submitting a ‘Subject Access Request’ to the Church Secretary. You also have the right to ask for information which you believe to be incorrect to be rectified.

If you are concerned about the way your information is being handled please speak to our Data Protection Trustee. If you are still unhappy you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioners Office

Your personal data will be used by Ashley Baptist Church for legitimate interests only to contact you to administer our relationship with you (and your child/children) and to provide you with information about our activities and for related purposes.

We use and store your ‘personal data’, (name; address; children’s names; photo; telephone number and email address), if provided, in our Church database in order to contact you.  We use the data to create our annual Church Directory in which you will be included in the Directory if you have signed a consent form.

If you attend any of our clubs, ie: Lunch Club; Youth Clubs, Ten 10 Club, Family Events, Holiday at Home or other events held during the year, we will hold your contact details for legitimate interest purposes only, i.e,  in order to be able to contact you the following year to invite you to similar events, unless you so indicate.

You will be asked to sign an Ashley Baptist Church GDPR Consent Form on an annual basis, this form details how and why we use your data.

We will not, without your consent, supply your (or your children’s) name and address to any third party except where
(1) such a transfer is a necessary part of the activities that we undertake, or
(2) we are required to do so by the operation of the law.
