Andy Perryman
Senior Minister
Andy, our Senior Minister, moved to Ashley with his family in August 2021 having previously been Pastor of Slough Baptist Church. Andy is married to Kate and they have three children. Outside of his role at church, Andy enjoys spending time with family, cycling, and complicated board games.
Kate Perryman
Youth, Children & Schools Worker
Our Youth, Children & Schools worker moved to Ashley in 2021. She studied theology at Roehampton university and has worked as an RE teacher for many years. Kate is married to Andy and they have three children. Outside of church Kate enjoys spending time at the beach, watching a good boxset and playing the piano.
Melanie Lawes
Church Administrator
Melanie was invited to Hertford Baptist Church in 1981 where she became a Christian and has been part of the Baptist family ever since. She moved to Lymington in 1987. She has two sons and currently two grandchildren, and loves being a grandmother. She has a passion for God’s creation and loves mountains. Waking in the forest and spending time with friends are her favourite pastimes.
Pearl Blencowe
Church Secretary
Pearl was born in South London and brought up in a Christian home within The Salvation Army. Baptised in 1967, she became a member of Balham Baptist Church in the November of that year. Pearl worked in a Bank prior to the birth of her sons and then became a stay at home Mum although she continued to work in the Sunday School and Boys’ Brigade until they moved from London in 1993 where they worshipped in a local Church of England. Pearl moved to Highcliffe in 2014 with her husband. They have 12 grandchildren and they enjoy spending as much time as possible with them.
Ian Hynd
Church Treasurer
Brought up in a Christian family and attended a Brethren Assembly from a young age. I became a Christian and was baptised at Blackfield Baptist Church in December 1974. In 1975 I moved to Sussex and went to Burgess Hill Baptist Church and became a Church member. I met Lynda there and we were married in 1983. In 1992 we moved back to Hampshire and New Milton with two young children and became members of Ashley Baptist Church. God has blessed us both individually and as a couple with a wonderful family of 4 children and currently 2 grandchildren! My main areas of Christian service and responsibility have included Youth leader, singing in youth choir, house group leader, deacon, treasurer and elder. Responsibilities outside my Christian service include 33 years personal and corporate banking and finance experience up to Director level. Owning and running Barton on Sea Newsagents and store, including being Sub Postmaster for 6 years. The League of Friends Lymington New Forest Hospital employed as Operations and Volunteer Service Manager. Currently Head of Brighterway, which is the Charity of Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.
