Ashley Food Larder

We host a weekly Community Food Larder to help local households make their food budget go further.

The Larder operates on a membership basis and is part of the FareShare network, coordinated locally by New Forest Basics Bank. It offers good-quality surplus food at a low weekly cost, with a range of products available including store cupboard items, fresh food, chilled and frozen goods.

When does it run?

Tuesdays, 9:00–10:30am

When you arrive, you’ll be given a ticket and can enjoy free refreshments in our Community Café area while you wait for your food to be prepared.

Our Community Café is open to everyone during this time — you’re very welcome to come along simply for a drink, a snack and a friendly chat, even if you are not using the Food Larder.

How membership works

Membership cost depends on household size:

Single person – £2.50 per week
Entitled to 10 products, plus fruit and vegetables

2-person household – £3.50 per week
Entitled to 15 products, plus fruit and vegetables

4+ person household – £5.00 per week
Entitled to 25 products, plus fruit and vegetables

The value of the food received is considerably higher than the weekly subscription.

How to join

You can sign up by coming along on a Tuesday morning (please bring photo ID), and our volunteers will guide you through the simple registration process.
